To begin this Hamburg (Homburg) story, it was my (Harley Ottmar) grandson Richard Miller, who convinced me to use a computer to write this story. From Richard's advice and training, it has made writing the history much easier and faster. Grandson Aaron Miller did the editing. My nephew, Larry Gies, created this wesite.

Many thanks to all the family members for their cooperation in sharing family pictures and information to put this history-story book together. Without their interest in helping to supply information, this known Hamburg (Homburg) history could not have been put together however incomplete it may be.

Letter 13 January 1997 from John George Homburg to Harley Ottmar on his knowledge on the history of the Hamburg family dating back to Germany where the Hamburg family originated. Copy of this letter is filed following the Conrad and Elizabeth Homburg family story.
